Our closing message for Ohio

Hey everybody, I wanted to share this video with you now that polls are open here in Ohio.

To Martin Sheen, thanks for helping us pull it off.

To you, thanks for believing in me and our message for Ohio, and fighting for it until the end.

It’s always been Ohio against the world.

This Election Day, that’s never been more true.

Ohioans are tough, and when people count us out, we always prove them wrong.

From pioneers of the skies to travelers of the stars, Ohio is the birthplace of dreamers and doers – those devoted to something bigger than themselves.

We work hard, and when we’ve given all we can, we push a little more.

We know nothing worth having is given. It must be earned.

But billionaires consumed by greed and corruption take and take and take, thinking we won’t fight back.

So you see, it still is Ohio against the world.

We’re standing up to billionaires and corporations, instead of standing with them.

We’re demanding a leader who takes on corruption.

And when the votes are counted, the message will be clear:

When Ohio shows up to fight, we never back down.

Our resources are zeroed out. We’ve allocated every dollar that came in the door to reach voters before polls close tonight. That means our accounts will be empty (or maybe even a little in the red). That’s on purpose. But it’s also taking a big risk.

If the result is too close to call and Sherrod’s fight continues beyond tonight, we won’t have the resources we need to wage it. Outside groups have shown they’re willing to spend ungodly sums to buy this seat. We can only expect they’ll do the same with Senate control still on the line.
