3 things you can do right now (instead of scrolling through the news)

Hey everybody. Trust me, I know what Election Day jitters feel like.

It’s a strange combination of anxiety and caffeine and optimism – and too often, you just don’t know what to do with all that energy.

These days, it’s all too easy to pull out your phone and start scrolling, looking for some indication of how the day is going. But here’s the truth: That doesn’t help win this election (and it won’t make you feel any better, believe me).

Instead, here are three things you should do instead of refreshing your news feed:

1. Call voters who still need to cast their ballots. Our team has up-to-date lists of supporters who we need to get to the polls before 7:30 p.m. tonight. Your call could be the nudge that gets them there. It’s easy — you can do it from anywhere. Just click here to get started. 2. Put our closing arguments in front of as many voters as possible. There are several ways to do that — I’m really proud of this ad. I laid out exactly what my top priorities are the day I’m sworn in as a senator. And here’s President Obama making our case. Pass them along to someone you know who still needs to vote, or share them on your feed and tag in any Ohio voter you know.

3. Help prepare for whatever comes next. I instructed my team to spend every dollar that came in the door to reach voters before polls close. That means our accounts will be at zero (or maybe even a little in the red) by the end of the day. That’s on purpose. But it’s also taking a big risk. If the result is too close to call and this fight continues beyond tonight, we won’t have the resources we need to wage it.
