Jon Husted Stars in New Ad as Ohioans React to His Own Unedited, Insulting Words Talking Down to Working Ohioans
COLUMBUS, OH – Jon Husted stars in a new ad featuring his unedited and insulting comments about Ohioans he is supposed to represent, with voters reacting to his comments that “people living in poverty are just not very experienced at navigating the real world,” and those who rely on SNAP need to be taught “how to budget.”
Ohio voters, watching Husted’s remarks, are clear: “Jon Husted, you have no clue in hell what you’re talking about.”
The :60 spot shows a lengthy clip of Husted’s out-of-touch observations that drew backlash earlier this year.

Jon Husted: People living in poverty are just not very, they’re not very…um…experienced at navigating the real world, right?
Jon Husted: I remember talking to one young lady who said, well, “I don’t really know how money works at a grocery store” because she grew up and has lived all of her adult life using SNAP cards to buy groceries.
Jon Husted: And so, you literally have to teach people how to budget.
Ohioan #1: Yeah, he really said that.
Ohioan #2: Jon Husted does not know what it’s like to live in the real world.
Ohioan #3: Growing up on SNAP made me the woman I am today.
Ohioan #4: He’s not working for me, I can tell you that much.
Ohioan #5: I just feel like he’s patronizing and talking down to people.
