In 10 hours, my team will wire payment for the TV ads we can run in the last seven days of this election.
I’m asking for your help today, because we are running out of time. Your support will make the difference. Here’s why:
First, I’m really proud of you, and this team. We’re building our campaign the right way. More than 1 million contributions in ActBlue, and the vast majority is from people chipping in what they can – $10, $25, $50. It’s why we are going to win. Our effort is grassroots, theirs isn’t, and you’ve made that possible. Some of you have been by my side from day one of this campaign — some of you go way back. I read your comments and notes and it reminds me that we’re building something incredible. I’m ready to deliver this win for you, and the statement we’ll make goes so far beyond one candidate, or campaign, or election.
Just look back to August. Republicans saw that voters all across the state were resonating with our message: the system is rigged, and we know who rigged it. In 2024, Husted and Trump told Ohio voters they’d lower costs, and they did the exact opposite.

So they threw out an SOS to AI and Big Tech billionaires: Send help. Husted can’t run on his own record.
Peter Thiel sent $7 million – no skin off his back – kicking off a cascade of special interest spending. $116,000 from an Epstein co-conspirator. $191,000 from Big Oil. $636,000 from data center guys. $679,000 from health insurance companies. $3.5 million from FirstEnergy to their Golden Boy. $55 million and counting from Big Tech and crypto.
All that money. And what do the people of Ohio get? Nothing. And when I say nothing, I mean it.
When we put ads on the air and people see it on their TVs at home, people don’t always understand how far that message can go. Winning in Ohio will take reaching voters in all corners of our state so we can earn their support.
It means sharing our message with voters in rural areas, with voters who didn’t vote for a Democrat in 2024, and with voters who have never even cast a ballot before. With your help, our campaign is building that winning coalition.
One of the ads we’re running this week features Teri from Youngstown. She lays out why she can’t vote for Jon Husted. If you haven’t seen it yet, I hope you have a second to listen to her story. If we have the budget, it will stay up in Youngstown, Dayton, Toledo, Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati.
When I wake up on November 4, I need to be able to tell you – my supporters, grassroots donors, volunteers, and friends – that I did everything I could to win. Right now that means doing something I don’t love to do. And that’s asking you to make a grassroots donation for the first time, or give again, if you can.
I owe it to you, and I owe it to Ohio.
I owe it to the small retailers and restaurant owners in Steubenville, who tell me their regular customers now come in once or twice a week, or not at all. I owe it to Bowling Green, whose residents watched billionaires from out of state build one of the biggest data centers in the Midwest right in their backyards, without their input or consent. To the soybean farmers in Shelby County who’ve seen the price of seeds, equipment, fuel, and fertilizer go up as much as $100,000. To the students at UC and Central State and Ohio State who told me they’re worried for their future, unsure about AI. They have the same big dreams Connie and I had at that age.
I owe it to the SEIU District 1199 workers at Cleveland Clinic’s Lutheran Hospital who went on strike when their employer raised health care costs, while cutting benefits. To the teacher at Shaw High School dipping into her own pocket to pay for school supplies for her students. To the custodian cleaning the hallways long after the students go home.
To the cafeteria worker who serves hundreds of kids a day, who Jon Husted would dare to look in the eye and say: “your work ethic is broken.”
I owe it to the thousands of Ohioans who welcomed Dr. Amy Acton, President Obama, and me to Cleveland for our rally on Saturday. The room radiated with determination – everyone eager to play their part and make sure everyday Ohioans have a say in how this all shakes out.

I owe it to you, and to the people of Ohio, to finish what we started.
I’m going to need your help.
We set a goal of $11 million raised online before the end of October. We have $4 million to go. It’s fitting, the $4 million, because that’s exactly what the other side is spending every day against us.
If you are unable to make a donation right now, I totally understand, and there are other ways to help win this election – writing postcards to voters, phone banking, or text banking with us will make a big difference.
You can also forward this note to someone who is able to make a contribution to get us through the final stretch with everything we’ve got.
Thanks for fighting alongside me.
In solidarity,
Sherrod Brown
Before you click away! Republican spending in Ohio has reached $317 million, and Sherrod Brown is counting on your support to keep up. We can’t outspend them, but we can outwork them.
