I’m tired of guys like JD Vance leaving Ohio behind
Hey folks,
JD Vance is back in Ohio today, this time in Cincinnati.
For a person who says he feels out of place here, in his home state, a reasonable person might ask why. Why is JD Vance back, just 10 days after his last appearance — and why is Donald Trump making a third trip in a matter of a few weeks?
This is what desperation looks like.
I’ve noticed something about guys like JD Vance, Vivek Ramaswamy, and Jon Husted. The first chance they get, they sell us out to the highest bidder every single time. They talk down on Ohio. They leave us behind.
But the moment they need something from Ohioans – say, a Senate seat – they’re desperate to change the narrative.
In mid-September, outside spenders poured $30 million in crypto cash and other dark money to attack me on TV. This month, they’ve added $16 million more. You can’t turn on a screen in Ohio without seeing these nasty attacks, rooted in lies and scare tactics.
And they all miss the point.
They don’t address soaring gas and diesel prices – because they’d have to admit Jon Husted voted 14 times against ending the Iran War. They don’t talk about health care costs – because Jon Husted voted 9 times to raise the cost of insurance premiums. They don’t talk about data centers popping up in Ohio backyards – because Jon Husted gave the billionaires building them a $2.5 billion tax cut.
On his last visit here, JD called my opponent “one of the hardest workers in the United States Senate.”
If that’s true, it’s because Jon Husted is working for the wrong guys. Guys that JD Vance also happens to be a big fan of.
He’s working for the Winklevoss twins who gave him $6 million for election mail. And for Big Pharma who gave him $700,000 for those 9 votes. Crypto who pitched in another $45 million. Data center billionaires another $600,000. He took more money from an Epstein co-conspirator than any member of Congress, including a maximum donation just weeks before he voted to cover up the Epstein files.
Donald Trump and JD Vance handpicked him to fill this seat – so Husted is hard at work for them too.
My record makes it clear where I stand and who I’m fighting for.
On insurance companies who deny claims of care and treatment that should be up to your doctor. On Wall Street and banks who pile on fee after fee, making billions nickel and diming the middle-class and working people. And the data center and crypto crowds who come into our communities from out of state, take our resources, and leave us holding the bill.
These interest groups want to keep their puppet in the Senate voting the way they want – but they also know I’ll stand up to them and fight for the people of Ohio. JD knows that. His friend Peter Thiel knows it.
That’s why we’re their top target right now, and it’s why JD Vance is making his homecoming to Cincinnati to put out the signal for even more outside spending against me in this final push.
We’re running a new ad starting this week in the biggest TV markets here in Ohio – it lays out the choice in this election in a straightforward way. If you can make a grassroots donation between now and Monday 10/26 at 5:00 p.m. – that’s when we’re wiring our final TV buy for the last full week before Election Day. Your donation will go directly to making sure the Ohioans who are still making up their minds hear from us, and not just JD, Trump, and Husted’s billionaires.
They’re flying in to try to change the subject. With your help, we won’t let them.
Thanks for building this grassroots campaign with me. Two weeks to go, and all eyes are on us.
Let’s finish strong.
In solidarity,
Sherrod Brown
Before you click away! Republican spending in Ohio has reached $317 million, and Sherrod Brown is counting on your support to keep up. We can’t outspend them, but we can outwork them.
